Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball standout Priscilla Lima is making a name for herself in the United States in sand volleyball on the Association of Volley Professionals (AVP) tour. As of June 3, Lima was ranked No. 7 in the nation on the AVP Tour.

Last season (2009), Lima was named the AVP's Most Improved Player, advanced to her first AVP final (Muskegon) and took four third-place finishes.

Lima, who has been on the tour since 2004, posted career-highs in third-place finishes and collected her first career second-place finish. She ended the year with a career-high 3,025 points.

In three tournament appearances in 2010, Lima has posted a third-place finish and another Top 12 finish.

Lima grew up in Brazil and started playing volleyball at age 15. She played collegiately at Louisiana, where she left the Ragin' Cajuns ranked fourth in career digs and fifth in kills. Twice she was named All-Sun Belt, garnering first team honors her senior season.
