For the 11th time in the 12-year history of Sun Belt Conference Softball, Louisiana enters the Sun Belt Championships as the No.1 seed. Of 10 previous tournaments in which the Cajuns were the No.1 seed, the Cajuns won all 10.

The Cajuns begin their run at an 11th tournament title on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at Lamson Park when they take on the No.8 seed, Middle Tennessee. The Cajuns (45-9) and Blue Raiders (18-31) will meet in the second round for the second consecutive year, with UL taking last season's match-up, 3-1.

Game Day Storylines

- The Cajuns enter the Sun Belt Tournament as the No.1 seed for the 11th time in 12 tournaments after winning their 10th Regular Season Championship last weekend.

- The Cajuns are 35-3 all-time in the Sun Belt Tournament, including a perfect 6-0 in the two previous tournaments at Lamson Park. The Cajuns last hosted the tournament in 2004.

- For the second consecutive season the Cajuns will open the tournament with Middle Tennessee. Last season in Mobile, Ala., the Cajuns dropped the Blue Raiders by a score of 3-1.

- The Cajuns come into the tournament as winners of seven straight contests and 17 of 20.

- Christi Orgeron leads the nation in RBI with a new Sun Belt and UL single-season record of 84. She also paces the nation with 68 runs scored.

- Nerissa Myers sits second in the NCAA with 66 runs scored and has reached base in all but four of the Cajuns games this season.

- Gabriele Bridges is tied for the national lead with 21 home runs while Orgeron sits tied for fourth with 20.

Scouting the Opposition

Sun Belt Tournament
- The Cajuns have won 10 of the Sun Belt's 11 tournaments in the history of the conference, inclduing the last three. UL is 35-3 all-time in the Sun Belt Tournament.

- For the third time in the Sun Belt's history, Lamson Park will play host to the event (2000, 2004). The Cajuns are 6-0 in those previous two tournaments.

- The Cajuns are the No.1 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament for the 11th time in the program's history.

- The Cajuns will meet No.8 Middle Tennessee in the first round. UL is 6-0 all-time against the Blue Raiders in the Sun Belt Tournament including a win a season ago. UL swept a three-game series against Middle Tennessee earlier this year.

- The Cajuns second round opponent will be either FIU or Troy. UL is 10-0 all-time against the Golden Panthers in the tournament and 2-0 against the Trojans including last season's championship game.

Last Time Out

La.-Monroe (3-0)
- The Cajuns swept their fifth Sun Belt series of the season, clinching their 10th Sun Belt Regular Season Championship in the process. With the sweep of the Warhawks, the Cajuns have now swept every member of the Sun Belt at least once.

- Game 1: In the game that clinched the Sun Belt title, Ashley Brignac threw her sixth career no-hitter as the Cajuns blanked La.-Monroe 3-0. Brignac struck out 13 in the clinching win.

- Game 2: Christi Orgeron broke a 10-year-old UL and Sun Belt single-season record as she used five RBI to push her season total to 84, the best in the nation, in UL's 12-3 win.

- Game 3: The Cajuns pounded out 11 hits, seven from slappers, in a 5-0 win.

- In the series, the Cajuns outscored the Warhawks 20-3. The Cajuns came in second in the league in stolen bases to just La.-Monroe, however in the series, UL outstole the Warhawks 9-1.
