Lafayette's Bayou Boys are playing Downtown Alive Friday, June 12th.

The Bayou Boys, Lafayette, LAJune 12th performance added to DTA! Schedule - Lafayette’s Bayou Boys originally scheduled in March will perform at Parc Sans Souci on June 12 closing out the Spring Series of Downtown Alive! - Comprised mostly of former members of Atchafalaya, a home-grown act popular in the 1980s. Various members have also played with other national acts like Zachary Richard, Wayne Toups and River Road. The performers are Cal Arnold, bass and vocals, David Varisco, percussion; Chris Foreman, guitar and vocals; Lee Benoit, accordion and vocals; Jamie Kelly, guitar and vocals; and Beau Thomas, fiddle.

Downtown Alive! is a 25-year-old community tradition and a popular staple in Acadiana’s cultural and social calendar. Downtown Alive! was first produced by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited in fall 1983 and has continued with a spring and fall season of free, family-friendly, outdoor concerts each year since. Spring 2009 25th Anniversary Series features four Grammy nominated artists, and DTA! favorites of the past and present with genres from Cajun & Swamp Pop to Reggae and Rock. DTA! is sponsored by Cox, Lafayette Coca Cola, and The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living.

Downtown Alive! begins at 5:30 with food and beverage concessions – musical performances from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
