The Howdies and Chili Cold Blood

howdiesLafayette's own The Howdies defines themselves on Myspace as Roots Music / Americana / Melodramatic Popular Song. Their shows are energetic and driving and just plain fun to see. Check them out as the open for Austin's own Chili Cold Blood.

When Ethan Shaw starts rocking the pedal steel, wailing away from beneath his cowboy hat, your shit-eating grin goes ear to ear. Together with guitarist Doug Strahan, who roars into a super-affected mic, and beat-keeper Matt "Bagpiper" Puryear, Shaw & Co. ply the gutbucket blues of Chili Cold Blood. excerpt from - Darcie Stevens

T-Sale' and Sons of Voodoo

t-saleAllons Danse! It's time for some authentic Cajun music by the boys of T-Sale'. Join Jean-Jacques, Dave, Richard, Todd & Lee on our back porch and don't forget your dancing shoes!

After many years playing together, the band members deliver tight, solid performances. Beyond that, they obviously really enjoy playing together, and this friendship among musicians, which has always had a central role in Cajun and Creole music, is yet another reason that T-Salé continues as one of the top new generation Cajun bands. Dr. David Smith - LSUE

Drawing from rootsy Cajun and Zydeco, New Orleans funk, Louisiana blues, Classic Soul, and hard pounding Rock n' Roll comes a new group from South Louisiana called The Sons of VooDoo. Comprised of colorful vocal harmonies, fast and smooth guitar licks, rockin' accordion, and an in-the-pocket rhythm section comes a refreshingly original sound, which seems to surprise just about everyone. The group consists of Lane McDonald on lead/slide guitar and vocals, Billy McDonald on accordions, Rhythm guitar, and vocals, Chris Fruge on drums, and Seth Rivet on bass. Keep an eye out because The Sons of VooDoo will be packing the dance floor at a venue near you!
