On Friday, January 29, 2010, Dr. Emad Habib, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at UL, was awarded the 2010 Louisiana Engineering Foundation Faculty Professionalism Award.

University of Louisiana Civil Engineering's Dr. HabibThe presentation was made at the Louisiana Engineering Society’s State Honors and Awards Banquet held in Lafayette in conjunction with the 14th Annual Joint Engineering Societies Conference.

The Louisiana Engineering Foundation established this award in 1990 to recognize and honor engineering faculty members from each of the Louisiana universities having engineering programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, (111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012, www.abet.org) the national engineering accrediting entity. Recipients are selected by vote of all eligible engineering faculty members in their college in a selection process coordinated by the Dean of Engineering. Selection criteria for this award stresses that the individual selected must exhibit professionalism in and out of the classroom and provide an outstanding example to students and other faculty.
