UL is in the process of licensing the design for private developers and homeowners, and wants to charge about $7,500 for the design, which includes a UL solar-trained architect to oversee construction, and a structural engineer.  Cost would be about $150,000 to $180,000, but could drop to $100,000 to $120,000 with mass production.  March 22, 2011

UL's Mechanical Engineering department competed in the 2009 Baja SAE Oregon competition May 8-10th. Each team designed and built a off-road vehicle prototype. The UL team finished 29th out of 99.
