The Cajuns are leading the Sun Belt in all of the national polls used for the BCS, are ranked #22 in the Wolfe poll and are getting 6 votes in the Harris Interactive poll. The season is only half over, however, and Arkansas State and FIU are within striking distance in several polls.

None of the Sun Belt football teams have broken into the Top 25 on any poll, but the Cajuns have gotten 2 votes in the Harris Interarctive poll this week. The conference is still ranked last among 1A teams in almost all rankings; in Sagarin, the Sun Belt has fallen behind 1AA Southern.

Masson is SBC POW

For the fourth straight week, a Cajuns football player has received weekly SBC honors. UL's senior quarterback Chris Masson was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Masson stepped in for an injured Blaine Gautier on the first series of the game and led the Cajuns to a 31-17 win over Troy.

Although ranked 2nd to last in the preseason polls, the Cajuns have won 5 straight, and have overcome both front runners, FIU, and tonight, Troy. The only out-of-conference games this week were USA, which downed UTSA in a double over-time thriller, and FIU which beat Akron on the road
