George Strait to Kick Off 2012 Tour in Lafayette

George Strait has announced that his 2012 Tour will kick off at UL's Cajundome on January 27, the first of 11 performances for the tour. King George's latest album Here for a Good Time is currently ranked at #4 on the Billboard Country & Western rankings, and #18 in the Billboard 200.

Lafayette, LA – Multi Grammy award-winning band, Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet, will be in residence on the University of Louisiana campus from March 21 – 26 as part of the first year of programming by the Dr. Tommy Comeaux Endowed Chair of Traditional Music. Band members will work with student musicians on campus individually, in master classes and with ensembles. They will also work with dance students, music media students and be interviewed in the KRVS studios for future radio broadcast and for archival purposes.
